Seungjeonmu, a National Intangible Cultural Heritage, is a captivating traditional dance that embodies Tongyeong's local artistic essence and unique regional character, passed down as a national legacy alongside the achievements of Admiral Sun-sin Yi (1545-1598). Since receiving its designation in 1968 as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage Seungjeonmu has been showcased annually through invited performances, various competitions leading to recognition, publicly funded events, outreach performances, and regular shows such as the Battle of Hansan Island Festival. Engaging actively in both large and small local events, it also conducts performances abroad to showcase our exquisite traditions globally.
